Onthe occasion of the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up across thecountry, the University Discipline Construction and Science and TechnologyInnovation Work Conference was held onthe morning of December 21st at the lecture hall at the ground floor of theoffice building. LiXinzhang, secretaryof the Party Committee of WFMU,Guan Yingjun, President of WFMU , Zhang Weihua, deputy secretary of the PartyCommittee of WFMU , Sun Hongwei, Zhu Jun, Jing Xixue, Ge Guowen, Liu Jun, vicepresident of WFMU , and Tian Yanling, secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of WFMU, attended the opening ceremony. The conference was hosted by Liu Jun. The main task of the conference is toimplement the national double first-class construction strategy,commend the advanced individuals who have made outstanding contributions in thediscipline construction and scientific and technological innovation , summarizeand review the discipline construction work in recent years. The main task ofthe meeting is also to carefully analyze the existing problems and unify thoughts, update concepts, build consensus,unite and lead the majority of teachers and students of WFMU, and try best topromote the construction of first-class disciplines and earnestlyshoulder the historical responsibility of building high-quality medicaluniversities with distinctive characteristics and well-known domesticreputation. Yu Jinming, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering,and Liu Fusheng, the professor of neurosurgery at Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University were invited to deliver a report. Yu Jinming’s report is “New Thinking andChallenge on Technology Innovation and Team Building ”.Yu Jinming created thepropositions of the times, and put forward many forward-looking, innovative andpioneering ideas and suggestions from his rich experience and from the forefront of scientific and technologicalinnovation and development. He combined his rich work practices with a large number of vivid cases . Yu Jingmingprofoundly revealed the true meaning of talent success and the disciplineconstruction of disciplines, and the current talent work, scientific andtechnological innovation team building and platform construction of theWFMU. Talent training, discipline teambuilding and strategy ,etc. are of great guiding significance for WFMU. Professor Liu Fusheng's report is Thinking and Innovation on Research.Professor Liu shared his valuable experience in the design ideas andimplementation process of several national natural science fund projects, andintroduced the clinical application of oncolytic virus treatment oftumors. It is the very good referencefor the application of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and itis of great guiding significance for scientific research in clinical work. Li Xinzhang, secretary of the Party Committee of WFMU presented the award toProfessor Yin Wenqiang, who was awarded the title：“Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions in ShandongProvince”. Therewere commending and rewarding on the representatives of the 2018 annualscientific research project, high-level scientific research papers, ChinaPatent Awards Excellence Award, and provincial and ministerial level scientificresearch achievement awards. The heads of clinical medical schools, public health and managementcolleges, and affiliated hospitals delivered speech. The President of WFMU, Prof. Guan Yingjun made a report titled “Spiriting Together,Striving to Create First-Class and NewSituation for Discipline Construction and Technological Innovation Work”. Guan Yingjun concluded the achievement of theuniversity discipline construction and scientific and technological innovationwork in recent years by four aspects: improving the level of disciplineconstruction, strengthening theconstruction of the teaching staff, enhancing the ability of scientific andtechnological innovation ,and improving technological services. Combining thecurrent background of first-class universities and first-class disciplines withthe actual situation of the school, we will deeply analyze the opportunities andchallenges faced by the current discipline construction and scientific andtechnological innovation work, and carefully examine the existing problems inthe discipline construction and scientific and technological innovation work ofWFMU, and for the next period, Thesystem promotes the construction of high-level discipline platforms, high-leveltalent teams, high-level scientific research and innovation, high-qualitypersonnel training, high-level international cooperation and high-qualitysocial contribution. The connotation construction of the six-in-onediscipline has been set clear requirements. Finally, Guan Yingjun stressed that building first-class disciplines,first-class professions, and first-class talents are the common mission andresponsibility of all staff in the new era. The whole staff should unifythoughts, scientific planning, and work hard to achieve high-level medicaluniversities by struggling with WFMU Dream. All department-level cadres, professors, doctors, directors of teaching andresearch departments ,responsible persons from laboratory, deputy directors,heads of various professional degree points, directors of teaching and researchoffices, heads of key disciplines (labs), 1258 talents, schoolscience and technology innovation team leaders, academic backbone, and graduatestudent representatives attended the meeting.
